Brief
Whereas innumerable designer chairs fill the pages of high glossy magazines, the cupboard thus far has been a neglected piece of furniture.

Design Intent
A homage to Tokyo. The circular cow skin application at the center of the square front of this cupboard creates associations to the Japanese flag. The irregular vertical pattern of dark elements made from walnut wood, which simultaniously serve as handles, was designed as a tribute to a bar code and the ominipresent shopping virus in the Japanese capital.

Process

Thanks to casters, the lower part of the furniture can easily be moved, and within seconds completely different spatial situations arise. The aim of the project was to turn the needed storage space into an optically appealing part of the interior.
